Baby Stella's Baby Shower

Tonight was Stella's shower, and she got so many cool things! It was so fun to finally see Jenny have a baby shower! Here are a few pictures from the festivities...

LOOK WHO MISSES ME

Connie and Tim have been kind enough to house my little Harry for me while I live with Dad and Jackie. Whenever I come over to their house (every day!) he acts a little cold towards me for a while. He doesn't purr when I pick him up and hold him, and wants down quickly. However, after a few hours he warms up and cuddles with me: ) That is what I love most about this darn cat... he's so cuddly! Usually cats stop being like this when they grow up... but Harry... he's just as lovey as the first day I brought him home.
Thanks Connie and Tim! Despite the claritin, allergy eye drops, cat hair, and scratches sustained by miss Abigail they still take care of him for me! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
At least he hardly uses his cat box and chooses to go outside... that's a plus! : )

Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice has got to be one of my favorite movies... so I decided to read the Jane Austen book. I bought the book many, many months ago and read a few chapters here and there... but never really got into it. If anyone has read it, they would know it's kind of difficult to read! Especially if you get the annotated version (it takes twice as long to read with all the interesting facts and definitions). But, I must say to all who tries... Don't give up! The book consists of 3 volumes. The first volume is the hardest to read. The second and third are the best! I can't put it down now! It's so good! It is so much better than the movie as far as reading Elizabeth's thoughts (as well as Mr. Darcy's)... It is twice as enjoyable to picture them in my head when I'm reading. And I know it's nerdy, but I listen to the movie soundtrack on my ipod when I'm reading... It adds to the emotion: )

This is how I get my kicks since I lack any kind of romance in my life!! Now I need to get another romantic book to read before August (when Breaking Dawn comes out) because I'm almost done! Any suggestions? Jenny recommended Something Borrowed in Hawaii... I really liked it. I'm open for everyones ideas... keep in mind I like my books a tad steamy; ) Hehehe.

Don't Worry, Be Happy

Wow... my how the days go by! It almost isn't fair. Yesterday was our last full day in Maui. Although we don't leave until 10 pm (I think), today is still a little tainted because it's our last day here! When will be my next trip? Two years, like last time? More? Less? A girl could go crazy wondering. I will be back... this I know for sure.

Not much has happened... just a whole lotta sun, shopping, and good food: ) That's what I call a vacation! Actually, I lied. Something did happen... but we'll have to wait until Jenny posts it on her blog. It's hilarious! Sarah, Derek, Shane, and Meredith Tuesday night to go back home. It's been just me, Cam and Jenny. We switched where we are staying. Instead of the 3 bedroom Papakea condo, we are now in the Maui Sheraton at Black Rock (it's on Kaanapali beach!). Mom would've loved it here... the room has an ocean view. I could see her sitting on the balcony with her half smile and her chin raised up looking out at the ocean. It was her "relaxed" and "this is livin' it" look.

So, our resort has such a cool pool! Instead of renting a cabana on the beach, we stay on the grounds on the lounge chairs on the grass. We choose chairs at the edge of the pool and just a stones throw from the beach. How relaxing! Waiters walk around routinely to ask us if they could get us drinks. Virgin Pina Colada's for me, please. Thank you. : )

Yesterday was pretty hot. All three of us got sun burned... even Jenny, who according to her, never gets burned! Our favorite thing to say here is, "But I put sunscreen on!" It must have came off with our sweat. Cameron says today will have to be a 50 and sit in the shade day... meaning 50 SPF. I finished my book, so I will have to get another one in the Borders at Whalers Village... that's what I'll do today. I don't want to go!

Mom's Kapalua

Mom under a plumeria tree at Kapalua in 2005

Greetings from Maui!

So yesterday we spent most of the day at the Kapalua grounds. Kapalua is where I stayed the first time I ever came to Maui with Cam and Jen and my mom and dad. I think it is the prettiest in Maui. It has beautiful exotic pine trees called "Captain Cook pines"... they aren't like normal pine trees. Kapalua has a cove beach that we hung out at yesterday. We snorkeled in the turquoise ocean and relaxed on our rented lawn chairs under the shade of our rented umbrellas. I'm reading Stephanie Meyers new book "The Host"... it's pretty good... but not as good as her others (so far). We are all getting very golden... and a little red (some of us ; ).

When our belly's rumbled with hunger, Cam and Jen and I hopped in our Jeep and drove to Kapalua's Honolua store. It's a cute little store with a little coffee shop (the iced latte with coconut syrup is to die for), and a deli and gift shop/convenient store. We ordered sandwiches and ate outside under the shade of a huge tree that would never grow in AZ (like most of the exotic plants here). I got the BLT: ) I will be back to get it again next time we go to Kapalua beach!

After we ate, we drove to where we stayed with my mom and dad years ago. We stopped where my mom loved to come to and enjoy the view. It is so beautiful... pictures don't do it justice! Kapalua reminds us of mom. I'm so glad I got to experience Maui with her. Every flower I see reminds me of her... that's pretty much every second of every day! : ) What a great vacation.

I'm in love with Maui!!
