Help me!

I need help deciding what kind of car to get! I've decided to trade my BMW for something that is more user friendly. The jerk who gave it to me is cancelling the 100,000 mile warranty, and there is no use keeping the car with out that! I don't make enough money to get stuff fixed if it goes caput. Give me your opinions, please!

SHE'S ALL MINE!!

Well, Black Beauty aka OXY is all mine now (get it?!?)! I had to meet the devil himself at the DMV to get the title in my name and get it registered. He took with him Blake Bennett. I think he thought he would intimidate me, nah... he was always nice to me. I wasn't worried though. I had Officer Merrill with me. Thanks for going with me Tim! Now all I need is insurance. I've gotten a couple of quotes... but I really don't know what I'm doing! It seems Progressive is the best... what does everyone else use? She is starting to be a thorn in my side though. I have to get the oil changed, new tires, and the brake pads light is on... sheesh! I'm thinking about trading it in for a cheaper, more user friendly car, but I'm not sure. It might be a stupid idea because it is all paid for and has a 100,00 mile warranty with BMW. Regardless, Connie says only biotches drive Beemers... and I don't want people to think that about me! OXY is the ultimate driving machine...

Birthday Season

I realize this is a TERRIBLE cut and paste job. This post is about the beloved birthday season. The season of a million birthday cakes. The season of extra poundage. The season of presents = happiness! Yes, that's right. Let's make a list, shall we? AUGUST: 2nd- Cameron, 14th- Carrie, 22nd- Tim, 24th- Connie, 30th- Wyatt. Am I missing anyone? I'm not including Birthdays we just had... Christine's, Dad's, Jared's, Luke's! We've had chocolate, vanilla, and lemon cake so far (my favorite, surprisingly, has been the vanilla with white chocolate frosting...mmmm. Good choice Christine!). I've decided Christine is the best at cake baking. I am proud of myself for only having one small piece each Birthday. I'm not going to lie...it's been difficult. I'm sure it will be very rewarding in the end. HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVERYONE! I would like vanilla party chip cake Christine.

BOOM!

I thought I was going to die a couple of days ago! I was at the gas station, filling my car up. I have never opened and shut my door while I pump gas, gotten in and out of the car, or talked on my cellphone specifically because I've watched TV programs where people have caught on fire, or an explosion occurs. This day I did, for some reason. I was pretty nervous about it. So, after I do that, I lean up against my car... waiting for the gas tank to fill up. I started reading all the warnings on the gas pump so I wouldn't get bored waiting there (I was bone dry, so it took a while). I laughed at a couple of things on there, like "Do not siphon gasoline from the mouth", etc. It also said to not get in and out of your car, talk on cellphones, etc. As I was reading that part... kind of getting scared, the handle on the gas nozzle clicked really loud. SHIZA!! I jumped so high! I thought I was dead for sure. Am I the only one who gets scared when that thing clicks? Gets me every time!!

Con Bon

This blog is dedicated to "the middle one" Connie. My older sister Connie is such a good friend and sister... not to mention mom and wife. I think I would be going crazy if I didn't have her to talk to. She is so good about listening, and she gives great advice. I hope I help her out as much as she helps me out. I have a feeling I don't : ( Some one recently asked me if I'm going to therapy for all that I'm going through. I told them I don't need therapy... I have my family. Thank you Connie, for being such a good example, for showing me what I could have, and for being my "Doctor Leo Marvin". Now, don't worry Christine and Cameron. Your post is coming soon!
I know I always post old pictures, but I just love them. It reminds me that I've had a good life. No matter what I'm going through, I still have my family. I'm so glad they are so near to me too. Some of these pictures have great stories. Here they are.

Connie calls this one "The Quasimodo".

We look like little munchkins. I think I look like a Whoville child in The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

Connie has always hated roller coasters. She doesn't like the feeling in her stomach it gives her. However, the last few times we've gone to Disney Land... she has been on every single ride with me. In the front row (the best seat) I might add! Granted, Disney Land rides aren't that scary... but I'm proud of her nevertheless. It looks like we're on a Disney Land ride in this one. Love the geometric shapes.

This was Christmas at Grandpa Polley's house in California. This one was particularly fun. Uncle Mike was handing out our presents. We just look like we're thinking "just give us the presents already!" That was the year he gave us all the Disney Land tickets. I miss Uncle Mike. I think that was the year we got the Singalodian too. Grandpa would hog it, and made the microphone smell like boos.

Ha, ha! Christine had put makeup on us and fixed our hair. She posed us in this position... and even set up the gym bag, windbreaker jacket, and water bottle. We have a few more pictures like this with different clothes and props... but this one is my favorite.

Oh, the pontoon boat trip! We all had kind of a bad attitude, especially Cameron, in the beginning... but it ended up being one of the best family vacations we ever had. I think I had just started shaving my legs, which explains that cut on my shin. I think that's the last time I've been camping. Does it count that we were on a boat?

Look what I found!

This picture makes me smile. I love it. Just the little details are what makes this picture so funny. Cameron is wearing his makeshift #22 jersey shirt, poor Connie has a cast on her arm, Christine is wearing her New Kids On The Block t-shirt Cameron teased her about, and I'm wearing Dads army shirt. We still have those plates with the olive green decal. We just got rid of that table and chairs. We still have those picture frames too! I like Christine's school picture on the wall... classic 90's. We had it good growing up.

HUNGRY, HUNGRY HARRY

It seems no one likes my Harry. I can understand why. In his older age he is always hungry. He meows at whoever is in the kitchen constantly... even if he's been fed already. He will only drink water from the toilet, so, he just meows at the closed bathroom doors constantly. When someone opens a bathroom door, he darts in, hops up, and starts drinking before we step foot in the bathroom. He's pooped on Connie and Tim's bed (he was locked in there all day), and on their car! Right smack dab on their windshield! By the way, I think he chose your car because he holds grudges. He didn't poo on mine, which was right next to yours in the garage! He has scratched Abbey a couple of times (bad cat), and when she pesters him while he is lying down, he doesn't run away... he just lies there! He also runs under feet when someone is walking, making them trip.

He never use to be this annoying. Ever since he had to live with that kitten for a year or so, he has kind of gone crazy. I will never give him away. Instead, we must look at his positives. He doesn't attack anymore like he use to. He had quite the temper! He loves being outside most of the time. He loves to eat popcorn with us during movies. He's still affectionate and lovey. AND, last but not least... he eats the bugs in the house (and probably scorpions that we never see!). He's better than a stinky, messy dog. Harry is a good cat!
AND DON'T LAUGH AT HOW CHUBBY I AM IN THE PICTURE ABOVE WITH THE RED SHIRT ON.

The Hairy Hippie, The Sleeping Giant, and The Little Creaker

THE HAIRY HIPPIE
A Hippie fresh from living in the Colorado mountains for a year just happened to come to Arizona on her way to Tahoe California. She was going to meet her boyfriend there, and wanted to get waxed. She hadn't shaved for over a year! She was actually really nice. She had pretty red hair. I said to her "You have pretty hair color", and she asked "on my head?"! Are you kidding me?!? She told me she made her own hair dye from nature. Nut shells, paprika, etc. The room smelled like Patchouli oil hours after she left. Why me?

THE SLEEPING GIANT
A nice lady came in today to get a facial. She's never had one before. Now, she didn't seem very big talking to her before the facial... but once she was lying on the facial bed in front of me, she looked giantess! I must have had my stool lower than usual. While I was giving the facial, this woman fell asleep (it's because I'm so good!). I'm use to this, some people snore, and sometimes I chuckle to myself because they do funny things. But this was different. She was breathing super hard... like she was mad. This was during the exfoliation part of the facial, and sometimes I feel like it is annoying because I am trying to get all of the product off their face while slothing off dead skin. I was actually really worried that she was going to pound me in the face with her giant fist at any moment! She never did... in fact, she loved the facial.
THE LITTLE CREAKER
We've been having problems with crickets at the spa. Exterminators are spraying all the time it seems, but they never seem to go away completely. I've noticed them in different parts of the salon and spa, but never in my room. I do hear one of them in my room, but it is quite soothing... especially with the music, which actually has crickets chirping in the songs occasionally. Giving a facial today, all of a sudden, and big bug hops on my clients bare arm. It scares me for a second because it's dark in there... lit only by candles and the red glow of the ceiling lights (I'm in the "Crimson" room). It took me a second to realize it was a cricket, and not a spider! The woman didn't move, so I tried to brush it off her with out her knowing. Finally it jumped off her arm onto the ground, disappearing. I was sure she felt it jump off, and she did. She didn't seem too worried about it when I told her there was a cricket on her arm. I was worried though. I don't like bugs... and this one was huge! I could hear it jumping around, knocking into the wicker chair in the corner of the room. I kept my straining eye out for it. Then, turning around to get a steaming towel from the towel cabby, I see it by my foot! Am I quick enough to squish it? Ccccrrrruuuunnnnccchhhh!!

Happy 4th of July!

I don't know about you... but I'm proud to be an American today. For at least I know I'm free. And I especially would like to thank the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I'll gladly stand up, next to you... and defender her still today. Cause their ain't no doubt I love this land. God Bless the USA!

That song actually makes me very emotional when I hear it. It's the song that was playing in that huge hangar when us kids hugged Dad when he got home from being away for several months. Was a band playing it? I remember waiting for the big airplane with all the soldiers on it to arrive. Then, when they were getting off the plane, Christine kept thinking she saw Dad and ran up to strange men in uniform!

I really am proud to be an American. Especially since Dad served in the Army. I remember moving here, and in first period in school, standing up and saying the pledge before class started. I was so shocked to see some kids not even stand up to say it. They would just slouch in their chair. Some kids would barely mumble the words too... but at least they would stand. I would always stand up strait and say the words loudly and with purpose. Kids in my class probably thought I was the biggest nerd... but I didn't care. I say it with pride.

Last year I was in Maui celebrating the 4th. They sold fireworks there (boring ones) at Starr Mart, and we bought lots of them. We ended up giving a lot away because we couldn't set them all off. Lahaina had a little firework show that we watched too. That was a good 4th of July. My favorite 4th was when we went to Heber to watch the firework show the year before Maui, and I was with Mom, Dad, Connie, and Tim. Heber always has such a good show. I'm not sure what we'll do today... maybe just stay inside where it's nice and cool and play games? It's suppose to be 117 today! Right now we are watching Nacho Libre.

Dad, wish you were here! And of course, Mom too.
